5 Places to Grab Coffee in Springfield, IL
A hot cup of coffee is an essential feature for many people's mornings. While you may be able to get by with a lackluster coffee from home, there's nothing quite like the rich, flavorful taste of a fresh drink from your favorite coffee shop. If you're looking for the right spot to grab a caffeine boost, we have some outstanding suggestions for you to try.
WM Van's Coffee House
WM Van's Coffee House is located in a historic home that dates back to the 1850s. The original owner, Isaac Lindsey, took a loan from Abraham Lincoln to construct the house. In 2008, Springfield Clinic purchased the property with the intention of demolishing the house to make room for a parking lot. The Conn family was able to save the home by purchasing the building and moving the entire historic construction to a new location.
You can take in this beautiful and storied property in person while enjoying a cup of fresh coffee. The menu also includes macchiato, cappuccino, espresso drinks, hot chocolate, chai tea, and other beverages. You can get an unlimited cup if you plan to linger in the cafe, get a one-cup or two-cup order to suit a shorter visit, or simply get your coffee to go. WM Van's even sells whole beans by the bag if you'd prefer to make your coffee at home.
If you're hungry, you can also dine at the coffeehouse. The menu includes a variety of breakfast options ranging from oatmeal to breakfast sandwiches. For lunch, you can get a light bite like a sandwich, hummus and naan, or a house salad. Order online to expedite your visit for a quick grab-and-go experience. WM Van's is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
